Well finally got our bits in gear and headed over to the mob museum. It was interesting and some of it not so interesting. Took an hour to walk through and see all there was in info about the mob from their not so humble beginnings to were they are today and how they were caught or still at large. How people had disappeared and not been found. All the killing that has gone on over the years to make the mob what it was or maybe still is today. Makes you kinda think of all the stories that have been around over the years and the movies they did on these people.
This is the money vault showing the amount of money that would go through the casino in a day.
This is the electric chair at sing sing that was used on allot of the mobsters that were caught.
The mob museum made them to be heros who lived the good life until the FBI took them down a notch.
After we were at the mob museum we picked up a couple of muffins and went up stairs for a few minutes. Had a little snack and then I went down stairs to register for the convention. Signed in and picked up my goodie bag and all the tickets I will need for some shows that I am going to with the group. Talked a few minutes witht the ladies and then headed back up stairs with my loot.
Sat for a few miniatures then said okay lets head down the strip again and check out a few places we just glanced at yesterday. Had a little bit of time to kill before we had to be at blueman group show.
Got off the bus at the belagio. Were going to watch the fountains do their thing. The wind was up though and hats were flying off. Had to hold onto them. An announcement came over the speakers saying that the show had been cancelled because of higher then normal windy conditions. Gee and it was the first time we were there when they were suppose to go off. Missed them again. Maybe will be down around there once more before we go home. Never know.
So crossed over to other side of the strip. Walked a little further to the south and went into the coke store. There is a store down here dedicated to the product of coca cola. It has two floors. From glasses to cans, bottles, bottle openers, coolers and clothing. My gosh how much stuff they can think of for coke products. Well!! Two doors down is a store dedicated to m and m's. This store has four floors. We did not make it all the way through as we had to head back over to Monte Carlo to get our dinner at the pub and then go to the blue man show.
Another meal that went with a show. This one was in the pub at the Monte Carlo. You get two parts to your meal and everything else you order is extra. Rob got the quesadeas and chicken and I had the ceaser sald and a burger. Huge salad and huge burger. Could not finish it. Along with a very chocolaty milk shake. Was delish but gosh just so much food.
Okay here goes the show. We walk in and are escorted to the front seats. Oh, oh we are going to get wet. The seats beside us have rain ponchos but our seats do not. The attendant says that these seat do not get any spray. Newell she better be right.
While we sit there waiting for show to start two eyeballs come out from backstage and start floating around the room.
They float around by remote control for about ten minutes. Then they make their way to back stag again. Then the curtain falls and the show begins. Loud loud music. And the blue man dance around the stag doing all sorts of things to make notice of music with PVC piping. Then they go into and act that has to do with the brain. They start making allot of noise with other items to show how brainwaves work. They get people from the audience to participate with their act. Just so darn funny to watch. Then comes the end were they make smoke rings by banging on drums
Got pretty smokyy after that. Then they started to were there was balls falling from the ceiling and the audience was bouncing them around. As the ball were being bounced around the toilet paper throwers came out and just made a big mess everywhere
That show was just one laugh after another.
Then there was the photo op afterwards.
Now on our way back to hotel. The bus we were on filled to the brim going up the strip.at least we got on before all these other people did. Made it back here for another day.
Tomorrow will be a busy day for me. First thing in the morning I am doing a quilt tour. Going to see some of the quilt shops around the area. That night I dress up like a pirate and go to a pirate dinner. This one is in hennessy's pub. So I have to get back to room on time change into pirate outfit and walk down freemont street in a privat outfit. Well first geeky thing I am doing. Then walk back through Fremont street to get back to hotel after the dinner and change into some regular clothes and head down to pool for a meet and greet to get to know some of the ladies that I am going to be with for the mepnext few days.
At this time rob will be on his own. He hasn't figured out what to do yet but I think he will not have any problem.
So until tomorrow night.
